Biographical Information
In the classroom my name is Mrs. K and I am the head teacher at the preschool.  Valley Preschool has been my teaching home since 1996 but I have been teaching preschoolers or involved with young children since 1976.

I have found that children in the preschool years are full of curiosity and imagination, which are two great building blocks for learning to take root on.  The classroom provides an environment for children and teachers to combine their energies to learn and grow together. So when people ask me why I keep teaching preschool I respond by saying "Because I enjoy it."  

When I am not in the classroom I spend my time at my home in West Union with my husband Brian who is also an educator.  Our family includes two grown daughters Jesse and Lakisha and son-in-law Harry who all reside in the city of Des Moines.  When I do have free time away from school or from maintaining our home I enjoy spending time with my family, walking, fishing, and painting.
